Advanced Survival 4 days, 3 nights Prerequisite: Minimum requirement: Completion of the Intermediate Survival Class. About the Advanced Survival Class – There will be a high demand to perform various skills from Basic and Intermediate classes taught at SATS. Examples friction fire off the landscape advanced navigation long term shelter construction water disinfection and more… Instruction in this course is limited to new topics only. We will test the limits of your current knowledge base, creating mental and physical stress. You will experience water, sleep, and food deprivation until you accomplish tasks that may be needed in a real emergency. The Mental Challenge – Regardless of whether-or-not the entire class is working at the same rate, the following will continue… New lessons daily New Deliverables added daily Breaking Point – This course has an 80% tap out rate primarily due to the following Not prepared physically Not prepared mentally Not training appropriately in the skills necessary prior to the class Equipment Required Carbon Steel, 90 degree Spine, 4” or more blade length, non coated to strike with flint. 24” Bahco Buck Saw Blade Hatchet 3' x 3' Cotton Material (Shemagh) Queen Size Wool Blanket Compass (Suunto MC2 or other approved compass) 8' x 8' Minimum Tarp #14 Sail Needle 100ft Tarred Bankline Stainless Container (32oz Bottle set or 39oz Canteen set) Headlamp with spare Batteries Grabber Reusable Space Blanket Three 55 gallon Drum Liners (plastic bags) All Weather Notebook and Pencils Leather Gloves (Optional) Bandanna and Toothbrush for Hygiene (Optional) NO Watches! NO Food! NO Water! NO Cell Phones! NO Toilet Paper! NO Tobacco! Bring any and all medications for personal use including bug sprays (especially those that repel ticks) as well as first aid items that are appreciate for the outdoor environment (especially items for posion ivy). Clothes appropriate for weather conditions in the area This equipment is required to complete this course.
Cancellation Policy
Once you purchase a course from SATS, you have up to 14 days before the course to cancel and receive a refund. This provides us time to open the spot for someone else to purchase. Any cancellations past that threshold will not be eligible for a refund of the deposit. Cancellations due to an emergency will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If you do not show up for a course your registration fees are forfeited and no refunds or store credits will be issued. If a class gets canceled... We require a minimum of 6 students to conduct a course (depending on the course). If a course needs to be canceled due to an insufficient number of registrations, you will be contacted by phone or email. You will then have the option to transfer to another course (if available), receive a store gift card, or a refund. Please note: SATS is not responsible for travel expenses, airline tickets, or other accommodations if a course is canceled.
